3. ARA Petroleum Block 44 & Block 31 QR
In 2016, ARA Petroleum completed the 100% acquisition of Oman's Block 44 and is now the operator producing oil, gas & condensates via a central processing system. ARA has recently had exploration success with the discovery of oil that is now on production. Work is currently underway to transition the block from predominately a gas province to one of oil.
Furthermore, in 2017, ARA Petroleum was awarded an additional concession to develop the petroleum resources in the larger Block 31, which lies adjacent to Block 44 in the northern interior of the sultanate. Block 31 covers an 8,528 Sq Km area and straddles the Hajar Mountains. Once more ARA made an immediate impact with the discovery of oil in the Aflak field which is now on production.
APT is a 100% Zubair company registered in Tanzania, which has a 75% working interest and is the operator of the Ruvuma PSA. The Ruvuma area contains a large onshore gas discovery which is currently being explored & appraised with a large seismic survey recently completed & further drilling planned.
